Unifinished KOTOR 2 fanart

I was flipping through my sketchpad after being frustrated in getting the angle right in some drawing I was doodling when I ran into this. I vaguely recall working on this over a year ago, right before I was employed by Manulife Financial. It's fan art for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords, showing my character, in the foreground, and my favorite secondary character, Visas Marr. I think I wasn't so much interested in illustrating my character, as opposed to Visas. It appears I never got around to finishing it. Ah, the sacrifices of doing the night shift...

Visas is the sole surviving Miralukan in the Galaxy. At the end of the war with Darth Malak (KOTOR I) assassins started killing off Jedi and Force-adepts. The surviving members of the Jedi Council met in Miraluka--a planet of Force-sensitives--to discuss the situation but instead drew the attention of their assailants. The attacker, Darth Nihilus, one of several Sith Lords roaming the galaxy, destroyed the planet and everyone on it, save one: Visas. Nihilus showed Visas his power and turned her into his apprentice. Visas never knew why Nihilus spared her, but she served him loyally anyway, even if she never really got into the whole Sith ideology. Thinking that all the Force-sensitives in the galaxy had been wiped out, Nihilus and Visas were surprised to discover one last remaining Jedi--your character. Nihilus sends Visas to assassinate you, but you, of course, prevail. Your strength and compassion wins her over and she joins your party, during which time she gets to know you more and respect you. She becomes crucial in eventually defeating her former master.

I always thought Visas was such a tragic character. Not only is Visas the last of her kind, but she's blind, too. Using the Force, she can see the galaxy in a way that no one else can. (That is, until you learn the skill yourself--plus points on detection of stealthed enemies!!!) And even if Nihilus did preserve her life, when you finally meet her and knock her out, you discover scars on her back that could only be the result of torture. I suppose she must have considered abandoning her savior / master Nihilus, but realized he was simply too powerful and, being completely alone, she would have nowhere else to run... until she discovers you. In the game, she wears a hood all the time, but based on her voice, I figured, she must have been a very pretty lady. I tried to picture her face and put it on paper, and I got exactly the result I wanted.
